Starlight With his debut release on Higher Resonance, Sacha Ketterlin creates a new level where Ambient and Techno meet on a par, merging into an epic sound symphony, far away from stomping tool techno. The result of his sound exploration on the modular system offers four tracks with a clear and minimalistic structure driven by floating pads and powerful basses. Every track enchants the listener by dreamy and remote voices which get lost in a cosmic nebula. A universe of sound. Spheric sounds. Ocean Of Sound. 18 days ago18 days ago. With his debut release on Higher Resonance, Sacha Ketterlin creates a new level where Ambient and Techno meet on a par, merging into an epic sound symphony, far away from stomping tool techno. Spheric sounds by the modular system offer a cosmic expanse in which a heartbeat emerges. Ocean of Sound is a 1996 compilation album compiled and produced by English musician and author David Toop. The two-disc, cross-licensed various artists compilation contains 32 tracks culled from a variety of musical sources, including dub, exotica, free jazz, and field recordings. Toop compiled the recordings to serve as both a historical survey of ambient music and an aural companion to his 1995 book Ocean of Sound: Aether Talk, Ambient Sound and Imaginary Worlds. After his studies of classical piano in Strasbourg, his interest shifted to new sounds using modular synthesis. Over the last decade he went on to dive deeply in the modular scene. After more than 10 years on the search for emotionally touching sounds with his modular instrument he presents extracts of live recordings from his modular and a 909 on his debut vinyl Ocean of Sound, finally publishing music with his own name. This album is a result of the convergence between the inner worlds of Ludvig Cimbrelius and Daljit Kundi. Conceived 2012, completed 2013 and released 2016. Featured and reviewed by A STRANGELY ISOLATED PLACE There exists a subtle boundary between ambient music and beat-driven electronica. Surrealistic H. Sapiens Loving the quality of this album, all tracks sound so smooth and serene. Its a great album for long listening sessions also, you could listen to the whole album without wanting to switch to something else. 1010 Favorite track: Blue Water. A double-disc set, Ocean of Sound impresses not only with its incredible diversity of musical styles, but with how easily these artists work next to each other. The second disc includes consecutive contributions by Paul Schütze, the Velvet Undergound, Holger Czukay of Can, The Beach Boys, African Headcharge and Sun Ra. Besides illustrating Toop's point beautifully, the album is an excellent addition to the collection of any wide-ranging ambient fan. Track Listing - Disc 1
